BARBUDA OCEAN CLUB REMAINS COMMITTED TO PRESERVING THE ISLAND'S RICH HERITAGE AND UNIQUE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT, AS WELL AS INTEGRATING SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES THAT FOSTER A THRIVING COMMUNITY.

Environment

Science and environmental consultant Dr. Deborah Brosnan and her team of scientists and peer-reviewed experts work together with the Antigua & Barbuda Department of Environment to shape the development and operation of Barbuda Ocean Club while restoring and protecting the natural environment. The team’s adaptive management approach is currently focused on dune restoration, sea turtle protection, storm surge analysis, climate change and sea-level rise mitigation, and environmental stewardship.

Community

Barbuda Ocean Club continuously supports efforts by the Barbuda Council and the local residents to rebuild critical infrastructure and restore services to positively impact the daily lives of citizens throughout the island. Among these priorities are renewable energy, water supply, healthcare, and education. To date, we have helped provide school supplies for Barbudan students and have assisted in restoring needed medical facilities to the island. We remain committed to expanding these efforts and look forward continuing our work with the community.

Economy

We are committed to creating jobs for Barbudans and supporting local businesses whenever possible. To further this, Barbuda Ocean Club has implemented a training program to help local workers develop necessary skills. We also give Barbudans priority in our hiring practices. Eventually, we expect Barbuda Ocean Club to create more than 1,000 jobs on the island. We are also exploring ways Barbuda Ocean Club can assist and support local businesses and entrepreneurs on Barbuda to further enhance the economic stability of the community at large
